Beach Babies

This past weekend we drove over to Seagrove Beach, Florida for a small weekend trip with Vince's aunt and sister. I love the panhandle. Growing up it was where my family always vacationed every summer. The beaches are absolutely beautiful. White sand, clear water, and southern accents...doesn't get much better than that. Our drive now is only 4 hours, 3 if we want to hit the nearest beach. We really should be taking more advantage of this while we're still living in Louisiana. It makes for a great little get-away.
It was great to spend some time with Vince's family. The boys are growing so fast and I love seeing them interact with Joseph, it's so obvious how much they love the little guy which warms my heart. I can't imagine what grandma Karen must think having 4 boys! Lots of superheros, cars, trucks, and tons of energy running around. :)
It was also nice to catch up with Vince's aunt Linda. She was so gracious to let us barge in on her beautiful beach house. This was her first time meeting Joseph and he must have loved her too because he shared plenty of smiles with her. We're excited for her and uncle Pete to visit in July...and show them what "heat and humidity" really means! :)

So this was Joseph's first time at the beach and it was a success. I quickly realized that my days of sun tanning with a cold beverage in my hand are over. This beach thing with a baby is hard work but we still had a blast. He even napped on the beach a couple of times and gave Vince and I a chance to relax and enjoy our feet in the sand.  He loved watching the waves and standing in the sand (with mommy and daddy's help of course). All this child wants to do these days is stand on his feet. He's rolling over like crazy and starting to scootch backwards(wrong way buddy) but I know it's only a short matter of time before he's on those knees and taking off across the room. And as much as the child loves being on his feet, I know the walking will be shortly after.
