This past weekend I celebrated a birthday...now I'm not going to say which specific birthday it was but if you know me well enough you can figure out which one it was. The weekend was perfect. Friday night Vince surprised me with tickets to see Chelsea Handler at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans. Since we ran out of time for dinner and didn't want to have to pay a sitter $8272610928 for an extra hour so instead, Vince surprised me again with gas station hot dogs...mmm...those kind of surprises are not usually as cute, but being the easy-going wife that I am! I went with it. :)
The show was hilarious and it was so nice to have another mommy and daddy date night out together. Love my husband!
On Saturday we planned on having dinner with my dad at the Old Rail Brewery. (My mom is currently soaking up the rays in Hawaii with my sister for her birthday). I absolutely loved having all my special guys all to myself. We had a great dinner and enjoyed the entertainment from Joseph. His party trick these days is blowing raspberries...even when we have food in our mouth. It's only cute now.
I'm so lucky to have so many wonderful men in my life both here and across the country. They all mean something very special to me.
But more importantly ;), the morning of my birthday we discovered our little guy army crawling across the floor! I am now on mommy patrol and can't leave the room. Luckily, I have enough contraptions such as the johnny jumper, the exersaucer, and his pack-n-play to leave him in when I do need both of my hands for something or do some household chores. This mommy stuff seems to be getting more and more difficult but I can't help but love every minute of it.
