Sunshine and New Toys
For the past two weeks, the weather has been absolutely magnificent here! Joseph and I have been taking full advantage of it spending just about every morning and afternoon outside. Thank goodness for new outside toys! He could sit in that swing and car literally all day long if I let him. Now I want one for myself...

And then there was a toddler...
Our little squirt is officially 1. Joseph's birthday weekend was a blessed one to say the least. We had many out of town family come visit and celebrate his very special 1st birthday! We could not be more blessed to have such an incredible family that is willing to travel such incredible distances to be with our little man on his big day. The weekend kicked off with a trip to the Children's Museum in New Orleans where all the kids could run wild and burn energy. Joseph isn't quite walking yet but fortunately they have an area just for his size where he could crawl around and climb over everything. He loved it. After a few hours of intense running around, we headed to our favorite restaurant on Magazine St. where we all were able to enjoy drinks and amazing fish tacos, The Rum House. Joseph was even surprised with birthday ice cream and was serenaded with his first Happy Birthday song....I cried. It was a perfect day with all 5 of his cousins. Once we were home, we of course had to feed him even more sugar by allowing him to dive into some cake that his Jojo and Pa K decorated.
On Saturday, we were all set for his big birthday bash! Since the past year has been all about whales, Vince and I agreed that his first birthday would be the perfect ending to the entire whale theme. So I threw together blue, silver, and white decorations to end the theme with a big bang. My parents and sister made and decorated his whale smash cake as well as the blue cupcakes for all the kiddos. Everything came together splendidly and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and sweet little party for our Joseph. It's very hard to believe that this past year has come and gone. Joseph is a very blessed little boy who has a daddy who works hard to provide for our family which allows me to stay at home with him. I pray he grows to love others as much as we love him. We couldn't be prouder parents to this happy and healthy 1 year old.
