Baby's First Christmas

We loved being able to spend Christmas with our families and look forward to seeing them all again very soon. Instead of making you read about our entire Christmas season, I've decided to leave it to the pictures to tell the story of baby Joseph's first Christmas. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them.

My Jojo amazes me

Christmas Cheer

So mommy and daddy are in full Christmas spirit around here! I'm getting really excited about Christmas too! There are these little lights all over the house and pretty decorations. Mommy's been putting me in Christmas pj's and Christmas bibs like every day. They're cute but I'm growing out of them really fast, I hope I can still wear them by next week! Mommy and Daddy made their annual Christmas cookies but wouldn't share with me, it was filtered by the time I got some...not impressed, maybe next year!

My Jojo and Pa K came over the other night and played with me while mommy and daddy went to a Christmas party. Mommy looked real pretty...I almost didn't recognize her with all that stuff on her face and her hair down. And daddy came home with an award! He's so great, I hope I can be just like him when I grow up.

On Saturday, I'm told we're going for a really long car ride to some place they call Charleston. They keep telling me that I'm going to meet my uncle Nick and cousins Max, Luca, and Milo! I hope they like to spoil babies because I definitely want to be spoiled all week.

We hope everyone gets a little spoiled this Christmas!

That's right Santa, Shhhhh....
All dolled up with somewhere to go!

Daddy wins an award every year at his Christmas work party! That's my daddy!

"This used to be my Pa K's chair when he was little...now it's mine..until LK and HC visit..."

"Wait wait guys, I gotta sneeze..."

"BERKELEY! You're in my shot!"

9 Weeks Old

Just a quick update on our sweet baby Joseph. He is doing excellent! He is 9 weeks old and had his 2 month checkup just last week where he got his first round of shots. Yes, I cried but after a few snuggles we were both ok again. He is now 12lbs and 23 inches long and growing like a weed, literally. Fortunately, my milk supply is very well established and is keeping up with his intake. He has been sleeping through the night for a week now! YAHOO!!! It feels amazing to be getting more and more sleep finally. It wasn't an easy 8 weeks but with consistency and determination with sleep training him, Vince and I have been able to accomplish everything we set out to achieve with this little man through babywise! We definitely have a lot more to come but we feel successful about how far we've come thus far with our sweet baby. And somehow we have both kept our sanity through it all. Joseph is such a good baby, we are so blessed. He is happy and healthy and that is more than we could have asked or prayed for. He is a true gift.

Just some of the things he has accomplished/accomplishing these days.

*Puts himself to sleep in his crib
*Holding his head up more and more every day.
*Focusing on mouths when people talk
*Loves being on his belly
*Beginning to coo and talk to us. (Mornings are our chattiest)
*Smiles at mommy and daddy
*Loves bath time.
*Not quite sure of Berkeley yet. (Berkeley's not quite sure of him either)
*Size 1 diapers
*0-3 Month clothes

***AND AFTER 9 WEEKS, MOMMY HAS OFFICIALLY LOST ALL OF HER BABYWEIGHT!!!***

BOOM!

Christmas Pics....by mommy

From Joseph:
So mommy decided to have a little fun and try to take some pictures of me the other day....
Wearing some kind of thing that went on me head. Anyways, here's what she got. Judge her all you want but I still love her for trying.
Check out my adorable cheeks. Mom and Dad smother them with kisses...a lot. It's so embarassing...

This is what Santa wears? Not impressed.

Like I said...Not impressed.

Hey! Who turned out the lights! MOM!

I can eat this, right?
And by the way mom, these pants are two sizes too big! Get real.

These dimples will drive all the ladies crazy.

He's HERE!

Well it's been a month now since our little one arrived and we are just now getting into a groove and used to this no-sleep thing. We are learning the true meaning of exhaustion!
Joseph was born October 3rd at 8:21pm weighing in at 7lbs 11ounces, via csection. After 24 hours of labor, little man was still being stubborn at coming out so instead of completely exhausting myself out by pushing for another hour, my doctor and I made the decision to pull his little booty out of the window instead. :) Before he was pulled out, my doctor warned me that most csection babies come out very quiet and for me not to be worried if he doesn't make a sound at first. However, being the special little guy that he is he came out screaming! It was music to our ears! And the flood gates opened, we were both so emotional and happy that tears ran down both our faces.
Vince was able to cut the umbilical chord and as soon as little man was cleaned up both headed to the nursery. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see or hold him for 3 hours (SUCKY!) but all of our family was able to see him in the nursery and bring me pictures they had taken of him. And from just the pictures I could see how perfect he was/is!
So for the past month we've been asking ourselves how a 7lb baby could completely turn our lives and house upside down! Again, he is totally and 100% worth it. We are totally in love with this little miracle and all that he brings to our lives.

Obviously inbetween a contraction...

He's HERE!
