Fourth of July visitors

We were so excited when our family from Charleston decided they would be coming to see us in July...and then we bought a house. I was worried that the visit would be too crazy for everyone and that Vince wouldn't get anything done on the house and we wouldn't get to do much with the kids. I was wrong. The weekend was great! Vince was able to have even more hands helping out at the house and we were even able to spend time doing fun things with the kiddos. Thank you Nick for ALL of your sanding help!!!!
Fourth of July was spent cooling off by the pool with the kiddos while some of the adults worked on the house.
On Friday we enjoyed a girls day. Laura, my mom, and I headed to Babies R Us to register for Joseph! A little overwhelming but mostly a lot of fun! We ate lunch and ended our day with pedicures. While we were doing our girl thing, Nick took the kiddos to the Stennis Space Center (my dads new site!) where they got to play with space things and even take a tour of the site.
Saturday was a packed day of activities. Vince took some of the adults to the Abita Brewery where for an hour you can drink all the beer you want and take a 5 minute tour of the facility. Since I'm 6 months sober and my mom hates beer, we volunteered to take the kids to an awesome kids park we had been dying to check out in Abita. The boys loved it. Unfortunately, we all melted but for lunch we met back up with the big kids at the Abita Brew Pub where everyone cooled off with Root Beers and a yummy lunch. From what I hear the tour was a success....Aunt LaLa was toasted off of their new Strawberry beer...JEALOUS! After lunch we all drove to Pa K and JoJo's new house that was a few miles away. Their new house has a pond right behind it so the big and little kids fished for a few hours. The only thing caught were turtles. Uncle Vince almost caught a catfish but unfortunately kiddy poles only hold up to 2lbs of weight...bummer. Since there was no success catching a fish, we piled in the car and headed out for Snowballs which was a total hit and a great way to end the day/week.
I am so happy the crew came to visit and can't wait for them to come back and meet their new cousin and nephew Joseph in our new home!
